Method
What we look at, and what we refuse to invent
Six steps, the same for every one of the 26 products on this site.

Pick the category and the specs that decide it
For duvet covers that is fabric, weave, closure and washing. For an ice maker it is output per day, cube type and cleaning. The relevant specs change; the method does not.

Pull the manufacturer's published specifications
Where a figure is not published, it is recorded as not published. It is never estimated.

Record the retailer's rating and its sample size
An average without a number of ratings behind it says very little, so the sample size is always shown alongside. Where we have not recorded an average, we show the count and say so.

Note the category rank where one exists
A ranked position is a real signal and we show it. It moves, so the date it was checked is on every entry.

Write it, cite the source, date it
Every entry carries the date its data was last checked.

Re-check periodically
If a product goes out of stock, changes specification, or its rating shifts materially, the entry is revised or removed.
What we will not do
We will not claim to have tested a product we have not tested. We will not state a specification the maker doesn't publish. We will not show a rating average we haven't recorded. Where that leaves a gap, the gap stays visible.
Certification numbers
Where a maker publishes an OEKO-TEX or similar certificate number, we list it so you can verify the claim independently.
